Learning Through Play
I’m all about learning through play and having fun while doing it! My starting point was inspired by the idea that kids learn best when they’re actively engaged, making things, getting their hands messy and enjoying the process. Instead of just handing over information, the kids construct knowledge themselves when they get the chance to experiment and create.
Just like the constructionist approach, I believe knowledge isn't something that’s simply transmitted; it’s constructed as children explore the world through their own creativity. The process of creating, experimenting, and tinkering with materials provides opportunities for kids to think critically, problem-solve, and explore new concepts in a meaningful way.
In fact, the more a child gets to “think with their hands,” the more they deepen their understanding of the world around them. Whether it’s shaping play dough, assembling a craft, or experimenting with new textures, each activity encourages children to test ideas, reflect on outcomes, and make new discoveries—all while having fun!
That’s why I like to design kits to provide this type of hands-on learning experience. By supporting children in building their own creations, we allow them to construct personal, meaningful artefacts that reflect their unique ideas and thoughts. This not only sparks creativity but also reinforces a deeper understanding of concepts as they’re actively involved in the process.
I truly believe that learning happens best when kids are having fun—and that’s what drives everything I do here. My goal is to create activities and kits that support learning, engage kids, and are full of joy.
